Resilient & inspiring speaker on dealing with change
If anyone is resilient and knows how to handle change, it is Niek van den Adel. After a drastic motorbike accident, he decided not to throw in the towel, but to inspire others as keynote speaker, trainer, coach, author and co-founder of Speakers Club. He may be in a wheelchair, but idleness is not in his vocabulary.
In 2010, Niek's life takes a drastic turn: he crashes his motorbike and suffers a high spinal cord injury and syringomyelia (a very painful tube formation in the spinal cord). Yet he celebrates 'Long will she laesie' every year, because his paraplegia also provided him with many positive things. He met the love of his life because of it, had 3 beautiful daughters and managed to turn this traumatic event into his inspiration to help others.
Mr Featherforce - Niek's nickname - has managed to turn the most drastic event of his life into love, courage, perseverance, humour and success. He has been inspiring others in the field of coping with change for more than 10 years now, as a speaker, trainer, coach & author. Despite his wheelchair, he does not like to sit still. "I make people resilient and organisations agile so that they remain of value on an earth worth living on," says Niek.
