In 2 intensive rehabilitation periods, he had to learn to cope with this double disability. This severely tested his perseverance, mindset and willpower. Thanks to his stubborn and humourous character, he managed to get through it and, against all odds, is not spending his time in a wheelchair. Â
Humour offered Robbert strength and an outlet during this period. On the advice of Marc de Hond, he decided to take comedy courses and launched his career as a comedian and keynote speaker. The goal? To share his story with his audience in a creative, inspiring way. Robbert also shares about his experience of going blind/being blind in his podcast, 'Blind Confidence'.Â
