Keynote Speaker

Meta van der Woude

MetaMorphosis, from doctor to file

When, as a healthcare provider, you become a patient yourself, you suddenly look at healthcare from a different angle.
You realise how small details can make a big difference.
You realise how important it is to be seen as a human being rather than as the sick person.
You become aware of things you might overlook as a healthcare provider.

How can we use our experience and knowledge to deliver person-centred care.
The keynote will stimulate you to think about how you can really make a difference as a healthcare provider. This will benefit not only the patient, but also you yourself.

About Meta van der Woude

Meta van der Woude has worked for many years as an anaesthesiologist-intensivist and as a manager. She therefore understands the challenges facing doctors and nurses.

Her hospital career ended after going through a severe coronary infection that required her to be admitted to her own intensive care unit with permanent damage afterwards.

As a result, she has learned about the patient's perspective in addition to that of the medical specialist. Her mission is to use these experiences to raise awareness of vulnerability and patients' experiences.
